A 3days Gorilla safari takes you to one of Uganda’s famous national parks known for hosting half of the worlds remaining population for mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is situated in south western region of Uganda and offers one of the unique Gorilla trekking experiences where you get to hike and see the Gorillas in their Natural Habitat. Besides the Gorillas, the park has got other attractions you will be able to see including; the different bird species, animals like the forest Elephants, the Batwa tribe among others.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

You will have morning breakfast at the lodge, thereafter, the guide will pick you up from the hotel by 6:00am. He will brief you on your 3 days Gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi. After you will start your journey to Bwindi, along the way, you will have a visit to see some of local drums, art and craft, very interesting experience. Embark on the journey arriving in Mbarara where you will have your lunch and after you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Arriving in the park in evening, check in to the lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overstay.
Accommodation options: Buhoma lodge/Mahogany springs/Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury), Engagi lodge/Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla lodge, silver back lodge (Midrange) Buhoma Community Rest Camp (Budget).

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

you will rise up early for morning breakfast and after you will report to the park headquarters with your packed lunch to join other trekkers for briefing on the guidelines and regulations to be followed while in the forest. you will be divided in to groups of 8 members led by an experienced ranger guide. you will begin the trek in the forest in search for the Habituated Gorilla families. while in the forest, you will sight some bird species, mammals and other primates including L’Hoest monkeys, Red tailed Monkeys. the trek normally takes less or shorter time about 1-6hours depending on the location of the gorillas. After you found them, you will be allowed one hour to observe them and also take some photos. proceed and exit the forest park to the park headquarter where you will be rewarded with the certificate of participation in Gorilla trekking and conservation.
Return to the lodge for relaxation and later Afternoon you may opt for Batwa community walk if your still feel strong. The are the local group of people living around the parks surrounding areas, they were the long inhabitants of the forest. Visiting the Batwa, will give an insight to understand other cultures in Africa. you will enjoy some of the interesting activities including, art and craft, such as basket weaving, making beads, bracelets, necklaces, earrings among others. you can also participate in traditional dances organized by the Batwa women among other interesting community activities.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Departure

you will have your morning breakfast and after you check out of the lodge and exit the park and embark on your return journey back to Kampala, you will have lunch enroute and another brief stoper over at the Equator for photo shoot. Embark on your Journey arriving in the afternoon in Kampala, the driver will drop you off at the Entebbe airport or at your desired location.
