Note; these 5 days safari can start from Jinja to Bwindi impenetrable forest, or from Bwindi and Jinja and ending with the drop of the Entebbe international airport. This trip is designed basically to capture the interest o clients who are interested in both water rafting and Gorilla trekking, Water rafting is done at the Jinja source of the river Nile one of the longest rivers in the world and offers one of the unique and once in a life time water rafting experience. Then to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park to meet the gentle giants, gorilla trekking is the highlight of this 5 days safari and water rafting experience in Uganda the pearl of Africa.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from hotel and transfer to Jinja

you will have morning breakfast at the lodge and your driver/guide for the safari will pick you from the Hotel and transfer to Jinja city formally known as the industrial area. The drive takes you through the Mabira forest, the tropical rain forest located in central Uganda, tea and sugar time plantation plus the road side markets. upon arrival, check in to the lodge for lunch and later afternoon, you may opt for opt. city tour of Jinja town to see some of the attractions. Dinner ad overnight at the lodge

Day 2: source of the Nile water Rafting

Today, after breakfast, our guide will transfer you to the starting point of white rafting, you will choose either a full or half-day white water rafting adventure on the Nile. you will have lunch at the lodge and later afternoon, drive back to Kampala arriving in the evening. Check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3. Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

You will have morning breakfast at the lodge and thereafter, the driver will pick you up and as you start your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The park is situated in south western Uganda. you will have a brief stopover at the equator for a photo shoot and some experiments before proceeding to Mbarara town where you will have your lunch from. After lunch, you will then drive through the rolling green hills of Banana and Tea plantations arriving in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening.

Accommodation: Icumbi gorilla lodge Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tervan Lodge.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Drive time: 8-9 hours.

Day 4. Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi forest

Early morning, breakfast with your packed lunch, you will report to the park headquarters for registration and join other trackers in a briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Tracking. you will be put in groups of 8 members and assigned a gorilla family depending on your physical fitness and ability to hike through the forest. for those not able to hike for along time, you will inform the ranger and you will be assigned much simpler and a group closer to the headquarters. for longer hikes, it may lats for about 2-8 hours depending on the location since some groups tend to move deeper in to the forest. plus, one hour given to spend with them when you found them. you will also encounter other primate species and some forest birds. Return to the lodge and exit Bwindi and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for quite and peaceful night in Uganda’s second deepest lake, the lake Bunyonyi.

Day 5. Lake Bunyonyi and depart for Kampala

After morning breakfast, take a canoe boat in Lake Bunyonyi and explore some of the Islands found in lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi comprises of 29 Islands some of which include; the punishment Island where Bakiga girls who got pregnant out off wedlock were abandoned and left to die. others include; Bwama Island known to have got remains of the leprosy hospital, Kyahugye Island harbors some of the wildlife species and Bushara Island is a birders paradise. After, you will return to the lodge for lunch and check out and start your return journey back to Kampala.
The driver will drop you off at the airport for your onward flight or to your preferred location.
