Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest National Park

After breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala, the company guide/driver will pick you up and you start your journey to Kibale forest National Park. travelling via Mityana -Mubende, en route you will have lunch in Fort portal town after which you will have a short town tour in Fort Portal. Visit the crater lakes and the Toro Palace, Karambi tombs. Embark on your journey and drive to Kibale national park, arrival at the park in the evening, check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation option: Kibale safari Lodge or Primates Lodge or Ndali Lodge for (up market)/ Chimps’ nest for (mid-range) and Chimpanzee guest house for (budget).

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Afternoon Bigodi Swamp walk

Start the day with an early morning breakfast and proceed to a designated chimpanzee trekking area in Kibale forest National Park.
Receive a briefing from park rangers and begin the trek through the forest in search of chimpanzees. When you found them, you will be allowed 1 hour observing and learning about these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. you will also spot other primates including white colobus monkeys, grey-checked mangabey, red colobus, black-and-white colobus, Baboons and different bird species like the great blue turacco, Africa pied king fisher, malkites among others.
Return to the lodge for lunch and Relaxation and later Afternoon, you will go for Bigodi Swamp walk. while at the Bigodi swamp, you will see various primate species including the monkeys, birds and also chimpanzees are frequent visitors. The forest is known for hosting 3 primate species whereas the Bigodi swamp is a bird watchers paradise. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to queen Elizabeth National Park

Early morning breakfast will be served at the lodge. Thereafter, check out of the lodge and exit the park and transfer to queen Elizabeth national park. The journey is scenic where you will have fascinating views of the great mountains of the moon, you will have enroute lunch then proceed to the park arriving in the afternoon, you will proceed to the lodge with a brief game drive to see some of different animals. Look out for animals like Elephants, Leopards, Lions and Kobs. Drive to the lodge and check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Game drive and Kazinga channel Lunch Cruise

Rise up early at dawn best time for morning game drive to catch up with the early risers, enjoy game drives through the park, searching for iconic African wildlife such as elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, water bucks, warthogs and more. Return to the lodge for lunch and later afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel to spot hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. Later evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

You will set out for the early morning game drive with in the park to search for the early risers and animals you missed out in the previous game drives proceed and exit the park. enroute lunch and continue to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park via the Ishasha sector commonly known for its rare tree climbing lions. As you pass the area, look out for the rare tree climbing lions in fig trees. Proceed to the park arriving late evening, check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation options: Mahogany springs lodge, Clouds Mountain gorilla lodge (up market), Buhoma lodge or Lake Kitandara camp for mid-range or Buhoma community rest camp, Rushaga gorilla lodge(budget).

Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, Dinner.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking and Optional Batwa community visit.

Rise up early for morning breakfast. thereafter, with your parked lunch, proceed to the park headquarters where you will join others for a briefing by the ranger guide on gorilla trekking. After, you will be put in groups led by an experienced ranger in to the forest in search for the gorillas. depending on the location of the particular gorilla group assigned to you, the trek may last for about 1-8 hours before you come across any sign of the gorillas. while in the forest, you will spot some animals, other primate species, birds and colorful butterflies. when you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed one hour with them observing them, watch them play, feeding, grooming young ones among other daily activities. Return to the park head quarters and proceed to the lodge for relaxation.

Afternoon, you may opt for optional Batwa community walk incase your still strong, where you will engage in a cultural experience, visiting local communities or villages to learn about their traditional way of life, customs, and traditions. Participate in cultural activities, such as traditional dances, craft-making, or cooking demonstrations.
Gain insights into the local community’s relationship with the wildlife and conservation efforts.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure

Enjoy a final breakfast at the lodge, set up of Bwindi and star your return journey back to Kampala. lunch will be enroute in Mbarara town. Upon arrival in Kampala, the driver will drop you and the Entebbe airport four flight or your preferred drop-off location marking the end of your safari tour in Uganda.
