Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in southwestern Uganda, near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda. It is situated in the Kanungu District of Uganda and covers an area of approximately 321 square kilometres (124 square miles). The park is known for its dense rainforest and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is famous for being home to approximately half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population.
