Uganda Nature & Community Walk In Buhoma
The Uganda Nature Walk Safari and Buhoma Community Walk are two popular activities that can be enjoyed in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Buhoma is one of the sectors found Bwindi, Buhoma sector has got habituated gorilla groups that are opened to trekkers for gorilla trekking. While in Bwindi, Buhoma is situated in the northern region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Buhoma is exceptionally one among the four sectors of Bwindi. the sector features one of the most famous and oldest trailhead in Uganda where the first habituated gorilla group first started from when it comes to Mountain Gorilla adventures. The first gorilla family to be habituated was Mubare gorilla family and was opened for trekking in 1993, later other families that where habituated in Buhoma are Rusheguru, Mubare, Habinyanja are now opened to trekkers. Buhoma Community Walk: The Buhoma Community Walk is a cultural excursion that provides a chance to interact with the local communities living near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. these where the first inhabitants before the park was gazetted into a national park due to the conservation of the mountain gorillas. The Batwa communities re-established around the parks surrounding and have been involved in tourism activities. many travellers in the park, have taken time and visited the local Batwa communities living in the park. The community village walk is led by community guides who will introduce you to the traditions, customs, and daily life of the Batwa and Bakiga communities. they will show case various activities including; traditional songs and dances, folk stories told by the old women and men among other activities.
During the walk, you may visit a local school, a traditional healer’s home, a banana brewery, or a craft-making centre. This immersive experience offers a glimpse into the local culture and allows you to engage with community members, learn about their history and traditions, and support their livelihoods by purchasing handmade crafts or participating in traditional dances and performances. the income generated from the sale of the sale of the products is used to provide the basic needs for the families ranging from school fees, shelter, clothing, Medication among others.
