The Batwa communities re-established around the parks surrounding and have been involved in tourism activities. many travellers in the park, have taken time and visited the local Batwa communities living in the park. The community village walk is led by community guides who will introduce you to the traditions, customs, and daily life of the Batwa and Bakiga communities. they will show case various activities including; traditional songs and dances, folk stories told by the old women and men among other activities.
During the walk, you may visit a local school, a traditional healer’s home, a banana brewery, or a craft-making centre. This immersive experience offers a glimpse into the local culture and allows you to engage with community members, learn about their history and traditions, and support their livelihoods by purchasing handmade crafts or participating in traditional dances and performances. the income generated from the sale of the sale of the products is used to provide the basic needs for the families ranging from school fees, shelter, clothing, Medication among others.
