from Kihihi Airstrip to Buhoma Sector: If you are heading to the Buhoma sector, it takes approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Kihihi Airstrip. You can arrange for a private transfer or use a hired vehicle or taxi.
Kisoro Airstrip to Nkuringo or Rushaga Sector: If you are heading to the Nkuringo or Rushaga sector, it takes approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Kisoro Airstrip. Private transfers or hired vehicles/taxis are available for this route as well.
Ground Transportation from Other Locations: If you are already in Uganda or prefer overland travel, you can reach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest from other cities like Kampala or Kabale.
Transfer from Kampala to Buhoma Sector: From Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, it takes approximately 8-9 hours to drive to the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The route passes through Kabale, and the road is paved for the majority of the journey.
Kampala to Nkuringo or Rushaga Sector: The journey from Kampala to the Nkuringo or Rushaga sector takes approximately 8-9 hours. It also passes through Kabale, and the road conditions are generally good.
